As a Full-Service Chiropractic Clinic We Offer the Following Services:
A spinal manipulation or adjustment is the ability to move a displaced vertebra back into proper position. A displaced vertebra can be the source of pain, stiffness or muscle spasm and can limit your physical activity. By re-aligning the spinal column into proper position, pain and stiffness is reduced, and the body is able to function more effectively; thereby, increasing your physical activity.
A joint manipulation or adjustment is the ability to reposition a joint of the body such as a knee, ankle, shoulder, or wrist back into alignment. Again, proper positioning of a joint relieves pain and stiffness and increases joint mobility.
By receiving physiotherapy before your adjustment, your muscles become more relaxed and your body is then prepared for the adjustment. By utilizing physiotherapy first, it is not uncommon to hear a patient comment on how “easy” or comfortable the adjustment was. The type of physiotherapy you undergo in our office is specific to your condition. Our office offers the following physiotherapy modalities:
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
EMS is used to reduce acute or chronic muscle spasm. This physiotherapy is designed to fatigue a specific muscle or a group of muscles by contracting and releasing the targeted muscles repeatedly over a short period of time.
This physiothereapy relieves muscle pain, stiffness and spasm and reduces swelling. The results of EMS are increased blood flow within the muscle tissue, greater flexibility and improved range of motion.
Ultrasound therapy is used to reduce muscle, tendon, ligament or joint inflammation. It can be used effectively on almost every area of the body.
Ultrasound therapy reduces inflammation by increasing blood circulation to an injured area. It also is helpful in reducing swelling for sprain/strain injuries or repetitive stress injuries such as tennis elbow.
G-5 Massage Therapy
Our G-5 massage therapy tool provides a powerful massage to sore, stiff muscles. The G-5 is used to reduce muscle spasm, increase flexibility and to improve blood circulation in muscle tissue.
This physiotherapy is helpful to almost any age group suffering from muscle spasm; however, it is extremely helpful in relieving gluteal and sciatica pain during pregnancy.
A lumbar traction table is available to patients with low back disc conditions requiring spinal decompression. It is particularly helpful in relieving low back, gluteal and leg pain due to a bulging and/or degenerating disc(s) in the spinal column.
Individual Exercise Instruction
You will receive specific, therapeutic exercise instruction from Dr. McBee for your particular condition. By incorporating active stretching and toning exercises into the treatment plan, patients strengthen problematic areas, recover faster, maintain their adjustments longer and reduce the possibility of re-injury.
These exercises will complement the treatment you receive in the office and are performed as part of your home care. Balance, stability and coordination exercises are also provided and may help seniors, in particular, to improve and maintain balance, steadiness and agility.
Custom-Made Foot Orthotics and Sandalthotics
Your feet are the foundation of your body. Abnormal foot structure, like flat feet or feet rolling inward, will cause the body to be out of balance. This creates a number of symptoms including foot, ankle, knee, hip and low back pain. The result of achieving a stable foot foundation with custom-made foot orthotics is a balanced musculoskeletal system. Foot structure is restored, pain is relieved and physical activity increases.
Our custom-made orthotics support all three arches of the foot and are made from a high quality, flexible material which results in a more comfortable fit than plastic or acrylic orthotics. They also come in a variety of thicknesses for ladies, so they will fit in athletic shoes, flats, or heels. We also offer water-proof orthotics for water enthusiasts. Sandalthotics are also popular with our patients. This orthotic is built into the sandal bed and is not visible to the eye.
Weight bearing foot molds taken while standing is the key to these supportive orthotics. This is a very unique way of casting custom foot orthotics. Orthotics are designed to support your body when you are in an upright position, so it makes sense to take the foot molds while standing.
On-Site X-Ray Facility
Our office is equipped with an X-ray machine. X-rays are used to either confirm or rule out a suspected condition. They are a valuable tool used to evaluate the structure and general health of the spine and joints in the body. X-rays are beneficial in establishing an accurate diagnosis, which assists Dr. McBee in determining the best course of treatment for your condition.
MRI & Specialist Referrals
Our office will provide assistance in scheduling a MRI and make necessary referrals to a specialist.
